One of The beauties of the United States is just that. They’re united. They’re only separated by state lines. Each state has its own culture, it’s very own unique personality. The spring is here, that means the summer is approaching. Summer is road trip season. I’m originally from the Midwest so I thought it would be fun to write a post about the places that we must see in the Midwest. Maybe you can plan a road trip and check a few out this summer. The Midwest also known as the old northwest is made up of 12 states Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin. Each state has something great to offer. Here’s my list of Midwest must see’s To keep it fair they’re in no particular order, enjoy!
-Chicago In the words of Kanye there’s no place like summer time Chi. Chicago is the 3rd largest city in the country and it has so many attractions. Navy pier, Willis tower and the sky deck, magnificent mile, millennium park, several beaches, the bean, several museums and restaurants.
-Abraham Lincoln Presidential museum located in Springfield which is the states capitol
-Starved Rock State Park
– During Memorial day weekend one of the best places to be is Indianapolis for the Indy 500.
-West Baden Springs Hotel in French Lick.
-Brown county hiking trails, and cabins
-Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore.
Iowa has a few nice historical places to visit.
-Marquoketa caves state park,
-Kansas City thrills nascar races
Michigan is full of stuff to do. It has a wide variety of activities, from sporting events to romantic getaways.
-Detroit, known as motor city and Motown. Detroit has great music, food, and culture.
-The Henry Ford.
-Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.
-Rocks National Lakeshore.
-Isle Royals National Park.
-The Gateway Arch in St Louis.
-Kansas City Barbecue, American Royal World Series of barbecue.
-Johnson’s Shut-Ins State Park.
-Lake of Ozarks.
-National Underground Railroad freedom center museum.
-Rock and roll gal of fame museum.
-Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
-Hocking Hills State Park.
